Inside Llewyn Davis is a movie I’ve been looking out for since I heard about it a couple of years ago. First off, anything that the Coen Brothers do I will eat up instantly, as in my eyes they do no wrong and continue to change things up in their careers. Second, the film stars Oscar Isaac, a guy not a lot of people would recognize but is more talented than you could imagine. And finally, the film tells the story of an aspiring folk singer in 1960s New York. Not only is this my favorite genre of music, but the setting, along with the Coen Brothers, only allows for some awesome things to happen. The movie has no release date yet as it doesn’t have a distributor (why, I have no clue) but we finally have a trailer. Check it out below.
There’s no doubt that the film is certainly a product of the Coen brothers. You can see that the humor is dark and with a bite, the presence of Coen regular, John Goodman, and of course the assumption that a regular guy has a lot of crap thrown his way that he must deal with. I’m very excited about the movie and hope that it exceeds all of my expectations, as I have had way too long to build them. I am also very much looking forward to hearing all of the original songs in the film. Oscar Isaac is a very good singer and his song, “Never Had” from the very lackluster 10 Years
, was one of my favorite movie moments of 2012.
Inside Llewyn Davis also stars Carey Mulligan, Justin Timberlake, Garret Hedlund, and F. Murray Abraham.
