Earlier, I made a post asking for all of you to vote on The Cinematic Katzenjammer in the nomination process of this year’s LAMMYs. The awards are given out by the Large Association of Movie Blogs (or LAMB), and has been a recurring feature for a few years now. It’s the chance for the LAMB community, consisting of over 1,500 members, to come together to recognize the best in the world of movie blogging. And it just so happens that The Cinematic Katzenjammer has received A LOT of love this year. In the final stage of the LAMMYs process, the categories and nominations are locked and the final vote tally will determine the winners. Of the 18 categories, The Cinematic Katzenjammer was nominated in nine.
Below are the categories in which the site has been nominated for:
Best Rating System (The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly)
Best New LAMB
Best Blogathon- Most F**ked Up Movies You’ve Ever Seen
Best Podcast- As You Watch
Best Running Feature- DVD Court
Best Movie Reviewer- Nick Powell
Best Community Builder- Nick Powell
Just being nominated for all of these categories is flattering enough, but having a real chance at winning a couple is even more exciting. I joined the LAMB a little over a year ago, right after the previous year’s awards were given out. I was excited to see how involved the community was, concerning the awards, and could not wait for this time to come around in 2013. Now, being so heavily nominated in something I was really looking forward to, is something I could never have dreamed of. So thank you to all who helped the site get to this stage and I hope you consider The Cinematic Katzenjammer in your voting decision.
Unfortunately, only LAMB members can vote, so if you’re not a member already, I suggest heading over to the site and putting in your application to get ready for next year. I can only say great things about the LAMB and have met wonderful people and fellow writers I never would have on my own.
