Ronald F. Maxwell is an unsung hero as a director. He’s been directing for nearly 40 years and has given us a couple of wonderful films, namely Gettysburg and Gods and Generals. These two films are the quintesential films of the Civil War era and not only provide great stories and visuals, but have some incredible acting as well.
Maxwell returns to this era with Copperhead, a film that tells the story of a farmer in upstate New York during the Civil War. Starring Billy Campbell (The Killing), Angus McFadden (Braveheart), Peter Fonda, and more, the film looks to tell the other side of the story of one of the worst wars in United States history.
To tie in with the film’s release, The Cinematic Katzenjammer, will be giving away a copy of The Copperhead, the book by Harold Frederic that inspired the film, as well as a signed poster of the film by its director, and a movie cash gift card that you can use at almost any theater.
