Elizabeth Banks is a funny actress, she has great comedic timing, but hasn’t been able to concrete herself in a pronounced leading role yet. Quite honestly, I don’t know if I want to see that happen, or at least not yet. I’ve liked Banks playing it low for awhile and she’s been making her way with films such as Zack and Miri, or even People Like Us which I enjoyed a lot; but I personally don’t think she’s ready. And now having watched the trailer for her newest film, Walk of Shame, I especially don’t think that.
After a one-night stand, news reporter Meghan Miles (Banks) has an interview in the morning to be an anchor. Unfortunately she’s stranded without her phone, money, or ID and has eight hours to get to her interview. That was a boring synopsis to write. Check out the trailer below:
These kind of plots couldn’t be more tiresome. Someone parties, gets stranded somewhere, and has to find their way home. It’s not clicking anymore if you ask me, and the trailer doesn’t even seem like it wants to sell the film. Let’s get it out that the director has made films such as Little Nicky, Drillbit Taylor, and even a segment from Movie 43. Yeah. But hey, Elizabeth Banks looks gorgeous. And there’s also James Marsden who can’t seem to do anything new.
Walk of Shame is set to release on April 25th. What do you guys think? Do you think this looks funny? Do you have any interest in giving it a shot? Please leave your thoughts in the comments below.
