The Trailer Park: ‘The Imitation Game’ (2014)

Oscar season is on the horizon, meaning we’re getting a lot of trailers for the upcoming bloodbath. This newest trailer is for The Imitation Game, about mathematician Alan Turing (Benedict Cumberbatch) who managed to decipher the Nazi’s codes during the second World War. The film spans throughout most of Turing’s life, which seems a bit odd with the trailer focusing mostly on his development of the Enigma Machine.

Directed by Morten Tyldum, the cast looks incredible enough to be in the running for one of the best films of the year, but most had that thought about The Fifth Estate as well. The cast includes Matthew Goode as Hugh Alexander which is kind of perfect casting; Keira Knightley as Joan Clarke; and Mark Strong as Maj. Gen. Stewart Menzies. Take a look at the trailer below:

The Imitation Game will be deciphered by the audience on November 21st. What do you all think of this trailer? Do you think Eggs Benedictcumberbun will get an Oscar nod? Do these kind of period-dramas excite you? Please leave your thoughts in the comments below.

I watche dthe trailer a few hours ago and, while I love the cast, it just looks so damn boring!

  • Cannot wait for this. After Apes this is one of my most anticipated of the year. Alan Turing led one incredible, tragic life.

I like a lot about the way this looks, apart from the casting of Keira Knightley. I’m not sure why, but she just seems like really bad casting to me. But I have no real idea what i’m saying as I haven’t seen the movie yet, so I look forward to it!!!
