In this edition of The Trailer Park, we discuss new films from Guy Ritchie and Cameron Crowe, as well as new action flicks featuring guns, explosions, and swords.
Hitman: Agent 47 is a follow-up/reboot to a film based off of a video game series. Oh, and the director has literally done nothing in the film world before this film. So that sounds exciting!
That being said, the trailer looks insane. Agent 47 looks to have the potential to be either wildly entertaining or absolutely atrocious. Whether or not it’s worth our time- we won’t know until it storms in to theaters on August 28, 2015.
The film stars Rupert Friend, Zachary Quinto, Hannah Ware, and Ciaran Hinds.
For a change of pace, we have Cameron Crowe’s Aloha, a new romantic comedy featuring one hell of a cast. Cooper looks to carry his natural charm to Hawaii where the lucky man can’t decide on who to love- always gorgeous Rachel McAdams or an equally gorgeous sun-kissed Emma Stone. Poor Brad- decisions, decisions.
I’m a sucker for Crowe’s flicks, even when they’re mediocre, as they have a level of likability about them you just can’t hate. Not to mention, a killer soundtrack. Along for the ride with Cooper and company is Bill Murray, Danny McBride, John Krasinski, and Alec Baldwin.
Aloha flies in to theaters on May 29, 2015.
With Last Knights, we’re headed back to the action genre in the form of a cliche looking swords and blood revenge flick. While the movie looks to be far from any sort of masterpiece, Clive Owen reeks of badass and it’s hard not to smile to some extent as he’s slicing through a storm of bad guys with a sword. And a tad of Morgan Freeman for good measure never hurt anyone either.
Last Knights hits select theaters and on demand on April 3, 2015.
Last but not least is Guy Ritchie’s spy romp through the 60s as we see Superman (Henry Cavill) having to team up with Almost-Batman (Armie Hammer) to save the world from an evil organization. Stylized, sleek, and packed with cool, The Man from U.N.C.L.E looks genuinely fun. Ritchie hopes to strike the same success he has with Sherlock Holmes with this new pairing in a movie reboot of the 1960s show of the same name.
Throw in some attractive ladies (Alicia Vikander & Elizabeth Debicki) alongside Hugh Grant and Jared Harris, The Man from U.N.C.L.E looks to infiltrate our wallets and entertain our brain minds on August 14, 2015.
