Neill Blomkamp Directing “Alien” Movie- Dreams Do Come True

A few months back, Neill Blomkamp revealed concept art for a secret Alien flick he dreamed up on his own, saying that it was simply a pipe dream and nothing more. Well, the folks at 20th Century Fox seemed to love his ideas, as they have now signed him on to direct a new film set in the Alien universe that is not Prometheus 2.

The project is just announced at this point, with no news of whether or not Sigourney Weaver will actually return to the franchise or if it would be an entirely new story in the hands of Blomkamp, whose latest flick, Chappie hits theaters on March 6. Blomkamp has announce this Alien film as his next project.

Neill Blomkamp came on the scene after directing the Oscar-nominated District 9, and then with his follow up in 2013, Elysium.

Check out Blomkamp’s concept art below and keep an eye out for more news that will be breaking in the new few months.
