South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone are starting their own production company, Important Studios. The company has an estimated value of $300 million and will give them the creative power to make the films and television projects that they want to make. This will also give them the chance to make a film version of their smash Broadway musical, The Book of Mormon.
“Having worked with several different studios over the years, we came to realize that our favorite people in the world are ourselves.”
The Book of Mormon is something to get excited about if you are a fan of Parker and Stone’s other work. I haven’t seen it, but it’s basically about two Mormon missionaries that bring the book of Mormon to the people of Uganda and things go terribly wrong. I mean, in my eyes at least, these guys can do no wrong. By the acclaim that The Book of Mormon has garnered I’m hoping it’s another stroke of genius. With Parker and Stone having creative control we can surely expect to see their vision come to life.
