The Trailer Park: Disney’s Planes

The new trailer for Disney’s Planes makes an important observation: some people don’t need rocket engines, high tech stealth or software that prevents crashes … and some people do. When I saw this trailer pop up, I was elated because I thought Pixar had thrown in on a new movie and I found Cars 2 charming. However, something about this little clip ran a finger down my spine and I didn’t know why until I did my research and I found out that DisneyToon, not Pixar, will head the film. If you’re not familiar with DisneyToon’s work, visit the dollar bin at your local video store and you’ll find a graveyard of sequels to our much beloved child hood classics.

Now, Disney has taken a new attitude lately and the movies that have come out show a lot of promise. Of Pixar’s films, the Cars series ranked the lowest for me but they were still good films. Planes could have some promise. It worries me though that DisneyToon is reverting to its old standard and popping out sequels to films that never called for sequels in the first place.  One would hope, after they swung and missed with Brave, that Disney would make sure to knock its next movie out of the park.

F**k everything about this movie. What makes it even worse is that the main character is going to be voiced by Dane Cook. Tits on a cracker, no thank you!

I don't understand. Disney was doing so well, and the invite Dane Goddamn Cook to join a project?

The Cars franchise is a merchandising gold mine. They gave up caring after the first 100 million came in.

I'm with Nick, kind of. I don't enjoy the Cars films, but I also don't hate them. I also don't really hate Dane Cook, he's just not very funny.

Well, I won't stage a revolution about Dane Cook, but in any case it doesn't seem a step forward for Disney, who was making so many steps forward.

i was hoping this would be a joke. dammit. even without dane cook, it will still suck. and what might also suck is that when i'm in disney this summer, i'll probably have to see all kinds of promotion for it. as for dane cook, he sucks. all he does is say random shit with a lot of emphasis. not funny. and there used to be a great youtube video on how he rips off other comedians, mainly louis ck. but i can't seem to find it. dammit.

Dane Cook isn't worth criticism. He's not worth revolutions. I don't understand why someone took the time to drive him to a studio to voice act. He must have found an empty mike in Disney studios and by mistake was recorded for this movie. By the way, that's awful. I hear the new sections of the Park are phenomenal. Why Dane Cook needs to go with you, I have no clue.
