The Trailer Park: Kick-Ass 2

In 2010, the world was introduced to Kick-Ass. Starring Aaron Johnson, Kick-Ass tells the story about a regular average day kid who decides to put on a costume and a mask and become a superhero. Little did he realize, fighting crime is something that not anyone can do, and he gets involved with the wrong people at the wrong time. Luckily for him, Kick-Ass meets the young Hit-Girl (Chloe Grace Moretz) and her father, Big Daddy (Nic Cage), two other superheroes that take the young man under their wing. Stylized and over the top with the violence, Kick-Ass was the perfect compliment to a summer filled with other superhero blockbusters. In fact, it did so well that a sequel was green-lit shortly after the first film’s release. And, we finally have a trailer (in red-band goodness). Check it out below.

So yeah, that looks awesome. As the usual formula goes for sequels, this looks bigger, badder, and even more violent. Plus, can we mention how absurdly amazing Jim Carrey looks? He’s playing Colonel Stars and Stripes, a fellow “superhero” that joins Kick-Ass in his war against crime. Together (along with Hit-Girl) they form the group, Justice Forever, a team of home made superheroes who fight together to stop the now (even more) evil, The Mother F**ker (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) and his own evil team of villains.

Along with Johnson, Moretz, and Carrey, Kick-Ass 2 also stars Clark Duke, John Leguizamo, and Donald Faison. We can also expect to see Nicolas Cage returning in some form or another.

Based off of the comics by Mark Millar, Kick-Ass 2 is directed by Jeff Wadlow. The film hits theaters on August 16, 2013.

What are your thoughts on the trailer? Are you as excited as me to return to the world of Kick-Ass?

Thank you, thank you, thank you. This is the first place I’ve seen this and it looks great. Kick Ass was my favorite film of 2010, let’s hope this lives up to the legacy. So far, looks good.

Yeah, I had no biological emissions, thankfully, but that trailer did, indeed, look awesome!

I lied. Peeing is not the best sign of excitement. It is shitting yourself. Your move, Chris!

You’re not a real fanboy, Fogs. You need to piss or poo to show your nerddom.

LOL. Thankfully, that’s completely untrue. :D

I want all that keen on Kick Ass, to be honest. It was okay but I can’t say I’m overly excited about another one.

Loved the first one but dont really think it has the legs for a second, plus with her aging, the aww of a young girl kicking ass has gone… what is she 17? not quite the same..

Time for me to make my entrance. I hated Kick Ass and I think this trailer means I’ll hate the sequel just as much. *patiently waits for the slaughter*

    Michael picks up a knife*
Now hold on, didn’t we watch this one together?
Hesitates. Drops knife. Weeps at the wonder.*

Kick-Ass did alright because it towed a line so closely but in the end, I think it tried to say something. Not like the Green Hornet. I wonder how the second movie will handle itself.

Kick-Ass is easily my favorite superhero film. So glad they decided to make the second film. Getting Carrey is pure genius.

I agree with you The Seer. I know that no one else can be Hit Girl. I just wish they made this one sooner, because she is no longer a little kid, but in this one she can pull off being 14 at least.
